NAMI Tri-Valley General Meeting Presents:
Updates on Alameda County Behavioral Health with Karyn Tribble, PsyD, LCSW, Director of Alameda County Behavioral Health
Plus an Introduction to the ACBH ACCESS Helpline Integration Project with Kevin Wu, MPH, EMBA & Stacey Smith, MBA, The Indigo Project and Charles Edwards, LCSW, Alameda County Behavioral Health ACCESS Division Director
Date: Tuesday, August 12, 2025, 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Dr. Karyn Tribble will speak on this year’s ongoing changes within the Alameda County Behavioral Health (ACBH) Department, including The Community Assistance, Recovery, and Empowerment (CARE) Act, a civil court process that provides services to people who have certain mental health disorders and meet other criteria and allows specific people (known as “petitioners”) to request that an individual enter the CARE process.
The meeting begins with a brief introduction to the ACBH ACCESS Helpline Integration Project. ACBH plans to launch one system-wide point of access for mental health (MH), substance use disorder (SUD), and co-occurring MH/SUD needs for information, screening, and referrals by July 2026. Kevin Wu and Stacey Smith of the Indigo Project, and ACBH ACCESS Division Director Charles Edwards, will provide an overview of the upcoming changes and take questions.
Dr. Tribble has over 25 years of practice in the behavioral health field and is an experienced
and dynamic administrator. She currently serves as the Director of ACBH. She has served
in executive leadership in organizations providing crisis and acute behavioral health
services, consultation to individuals, families, schools, and organizations, forensic services,
integrated primary care, and has previously managed mental health services in Berkeley
and Albany.
This presentation will be on Zoom only.
