A Panel with Police Chiefs: Discussion on Local Psychiatric Crisis Response Units

NAMI Tri-Valley is pleased to host a panel featuring the Police Chiefs of the Pleasanton, Livermore, and Dublin Police Departments. They'll speak about their cities' respective local psychiatric crisis response units and share resources from their departments. The audience will have the opportunity to ask questions and voice their comments or concerns. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided during this event.

Chief Tracy Avelar was selected to serve as the Chief of Police for the City of Pleasanton in 2024. She brings over 20 years of policing experience and previously served with the Foster City Police Department as their Police Chief. She advanced through the ranks serving in roles such as patrol officer, Youth Services, Field Training Officer, Administrative Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain.
Chief Jeramy Young has been a police officer for 30 years and has held many assignments including Patrol, Investigations, Street Crimes, Internal Affairs, and Air Support. He came to Livermore in 2014 and was promoted to Chief of Police in October of 2020. During his time in Livermore, the PD team implemented the real-time awareness center, allowing for more efficient and effective responses to crime events, formed a Mobile Evaluation Team to better serve those dealing with mental health crisis, and expanded community policing
efforts.
Chief Victor Fox was selected to serve as the Chief of Police for the City of Dublin in 2024. He has previously served as the Commander for the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. He previously worked as a patrol deputy for the Eden Township Substation and as a shift supervisor at the Santa Rita Jail & Glenn E. Dyer Detention Facility, later being promoted to captain and being assigned to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Regional Training Center.
